-BHS T&F is 2-0 in the division as we approach the midway point of the season. The team has seen many great performances with multiple athletes already hitting regional qualifying standards.
-The track season will quickly draw to a close for some athletes. These runners should consider if they will continue training with the team or shut it down for a couple weeks and begin preparing for XC. As always, these athletes are encouraged to continue training with their teammates through the remainder of the outdoor season.
-The XC and T&F programs are looking for athlete volunteers to give back to the community by volunteering at the Gleaners Distribution Center in Howell. We need approx 20 athletes to volunteer from 10:30-12:00 on Saturday, May 18th. Interested athletes can sign up here. The teams are also leading a Virtual Can Food Drive. Summer can be a trying time for low income families. During the school year, low-income students may receive breakfast, snacks, and lunch through their school. Help fill the void for Livingston County families by donating to Gleaners. Every $1 provides 3 meals. The programs’ goal is to raise $1000 by May 18th. Donate to the Virtual Can Food Drive here.
-Members of the 2019 boys and girls XC teams will attend SMS lunches in late May to visit with incoming 9th grade runners. This is an excellent opportunity for the incoming freshman to ask questions and get a feel for the program.
-With the closing of the camp at Loon Lake the boys program will be beginning an exciting new chapter at UAW Black Lake. Preliminary Team Camp Information can be found here.
